Fr. Marvin’s Reflection - September 21
In Luke 16:1-13, the parable of the dishonest steward challenges us to wisely steward our God-given time and talents. The steward's foresight highlights the importance of using all our gifts for eternal purposes, not merely temporary gain.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us in CCC 942: "By virtue of their baptism, lay people are made sharers in the priestly, prophetic, and kingly function of Christ." This means we are entrusted with time and talents to actively participate in Christ’s mission.
Our time should be invested in prayer, service, and fulfilling our vocations. Our talents, whether in teaching, serving, or creating, must glorify God and uplift others. Let us assess how we use these gifts, aligning our daily actions with eternal values.
This week, may we commit to being intentional stewards, using our time and talents for God’s glory, serving others, and planting seeds for His kingdom. How can you more effectively use your unique gifts to reflect God's love and truth in your daily life? I also encourage you grab a ministry form found at the end of the pews and pray how you can serve the Lord at our parish.
In Christ,
Fr. Marvin
